The Warriorr movie review: Screenplay is outdated and predictable, Ram Pothineni and Aadhi Pinisetty give good performance in this action picture

The Warrior, this Telugu Tamil bilingual picture released recently and what we come to know watching this film that this picture is an action movie. Ram Pothineni, Aadhi Pinisetty and Krithi Shetty star in the film.

Picture is a mass action drama film having a run time of 2 hr 45 minutes. Picture is a below average. Hardly Only 10-12 minutes of the picture were enjoyable, good to watch, interesting to watch. Picture is made with an outdated routine template of hero and villain fight that’s been in the market since ages. Hero comes to a city in search of job. Village is filled with a lot of criminal activities. Hero gets into a fight with one of the villain in the city. Hero fights the villain and villain also beats the hero badly after which hero bounces back and fights the villain. Villain goes to hero mother and threatens her. Hero mother is fearless. She has full faith and pride in her son. She threatens the villain for coming to her and trying to scare her. This type of routine action movies we have seen before also so nothing new in the storyline.

Film script was actually written for Suriya in 2014 but due to some reasons  Suriya did not do the film. Ram Pothineni came on board. But the story which was written in 2014 the same script was given to Ram Pothineni. That’s why we feel the script little outdated. Some modification should have been made keeping actor Ram Pothineni in mind.

Strange thing I found about the film is that in the poster and teaser trailer we can see actor Ram Pothineni in a police man role but in the picture we can see policeman role quite late on the picture. First half of the picture, Ram Pothineni plays role of a doctor. The transition story of the character from doctor to policeman, that screenplay was not written nicely. The story was written haphazardly. Romantic song was also fitted into the scene without proper planning. Watching the film, we just could not believe how actor Ram Pothineni approved for the script and signed for his role in the film.

Ram Pothineni character of a police officer was nice. He tried to give good performance and impress the audience with the film. His action sequences were good, dance steps were good, dialogue delivery was good, screen presence was good, his look as police officer was also good. Dialogues written for him were also good. I personally liked it.

Aadhi Pinisetty performance was also nice. But he could have done much better in the film. His dialogue delivery, accent and facial expressions were good.

Songs were average in the picture. Every 10 minute new song is forcefully fitted in the picture, that was unnecessary. Only the Bullet song in the picture was impressive. Background score of the picture was good. But only in some action sequences, it failed to elevate the intensity of the action moment. I would say the BGM of the movie was flat. It should have been little pumped up to match the intensity of action in the movie. If it would have been that way, action scenes watching would have been more interesting.

Picture editing is also poor. Most of the scenes, transition effect between the scenes seems to have not been applied. They seem cut to cut with the scenes in the movie. Screenplay of the movie is outdated and predictable. Music of this picture lacks the energy that it required in the film. It should have been more lively, more vibrant in this action movie.

Overall, I would say The Warriorr is a below average movie. Only Ram Pothineni  and Aadhi Pinisetty’s character shine in the movie. Picture’s only one scene I found engaging and interesting where Krithi Shettys character was kidnapped. This picture lacked that larger than life impact that they intended to show in the film. Overall, I rate this picture 3 stars out of 5.

I had expected much more from the film.
