Sushmita Sen portrays the character of trangender activist Shree Gauri Sawant in the series titled Taali.
Shree Gauri Sawant’s relentelss struggle to get recognition to the third gender community in India is shown in the series. Also shown is her jourrney towards becoming a mother.
The trailer also shows the challenges that they face in everyday life. How people target them and make fun of them is also shown in the trailer.
They have given an example of a charcter named Ganesh who wants to became a mother after growing up, is ridiculed for his choice. Then we see the character transformation of Ganesh to Gauri.
We can see Ganesh appling a bindi on the forrehead and wanting to wear a saree.
Gauri is greeted by members of the trangender community. We also see Gauri in the Sureme Court and taking part in television channel debates to make public realise the troubles and challenges faced by members of their community.
