Taapsee Pannu film Shabaash Mithu released recently. The picture is based on the story of Indian women cricketer Mithali Raj. Taapsee Pannu played lead role in the film.
This picture I didn’t like Taapsee Pannus performance much. Supporting actors did good job. Taapsee Pannu and her childhood friend story also beautifully shown.
Picture is of 2 hour 43 minute duration yet the film does not tell much about Mithali Raj. Mithali Raj childhood, personal life, family etc should also have been shown in the picture.
Unnecessary songs have been added in the picture. They are soothing enough to hear but they were not required in the story.
Taapsee Pannus look should have been changed in the film. Not only her but also the other players. Taapse Pannu is playing the 16 year Mithali Raj and above 30 year Mithali Raj with the same look. Original footage of the women world cup matches shown in the picture. Players face replaced with the film cast. Good thing is that the scene does not look fake. It looks real, not edited.
Picture last scene after returning from worldcup, women team welcome here in India, that scene was an emotional scene in the film. It will make you cry. This is the best scene of the movie.
Child actors who play young characters of Mithali and her friend, specially the friend character actor did really good job. Picture is directed by Srijit Mukherji. I rate this picture 2.5 stars out of 5. Picture could have been much better.
