Karan Johar took to his social media to announce that his film Ae Watan Mere Watan is going to release on March 21 on Amazon Prime. He also shared a video in which he said that his film Ae Watan Mere Watan Trailer is going to be out on March 4.
He gave a background about what Ae Watan Mere Watan film is about. He shared that it is a story of a brave 22 year girl who displayed unmatchable courage and deep patriotism in her fight against the British that she started an underground radio to unite the country against the British. This was during the 1942 Quit India movement.
He also shared that his film reminds him of many such unsung heroes who have displayed huge courage and deep patriotism in their exemplary lives. Like he gave the example of his film Raazi where the character Sehmat played by Alia Bhatt showed deep resolve to work for the country going to extreme areas like marriying to a Pakistani Army family to spy on them. Another example he gave of Captain Vikram Batra from Shershaah, his film, played by SIdharth Malhotra. Whose character showed what is sacrifice in the fight during the Kargil War.
Ae Watan Mere Watan is another collaboration between Amazon Prime and Dharmatic Entertainment Production (Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra) to bring such patriotic stories to life.
