Samrat Prithviraj Director Chandraprakash Dwiwedi in one of his recent media interactions said that the film was originally written 18 years ago for actor Sunny Deol as ‘Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’.
He even said that Sunny Deol was ready to be part of the film and he even agreed to produce it. But the market did not did not support it back then. He went on to say that several actors and production houses did not want to be part of Samrat Prithviraj and eventually YRF and Akshay Kumar came on board with the film.
Samrat Prithviraj however did not perform well in the box office. The 300 crore film is still struggling to reach 100 crore in terms of box office collections. Makers are still in a dilemma trying to understand what actually went wrong from their end that the film failed to perform well.
Samrat Prithviraj stars actors Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt and Manushi Chillar. The film released on the 3rd of this month, 20 days ago.
