Salaar director Prashanth Neel spoke highly about Prithviraj Sukumaran, his actor in Salaar at a recent media interaction. He said, Salaar is a mix of Prithviraj and Prabhas. Without Prithviraj, Salaar is impossible. Prithviraj was like a perfect assistant director to me on the set, recalls director Prashanth Neel. Prithviraj would gives Prashanth certain suggestions and inputs which the filmmaker would kindly try to incorporate.
Director Prashanth Neel felt that Prithviraj initially would not agree to play the role assigned to him for Salaar. He is a big Malayalam star and playing a second actor to Prabhas would not have been acceptable for Prithviraj, thought Prashanth. But Prithviraj read the scripts and happily agreed to be part of the film. ‘Salaar is not a one man show, says Prashanth.
Pritihviraj Sukumaran is also a vital part of the film. Prabhas has done most of the acting in Salaar. But Prithviraj also has played an important role- the character of Varadharaja Mannar- whose glimpse we got to see in the trailer. Salaar releases in the cinemas on the 22nd of December.
