Riteish Deshmukh will be directing an upcoming Marathi film titled Raja Shivaji, based on the life of Maratha warrior Chhatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj. The film will also release in Hindi. Riteish Deshmukh is going to act in it playing the principal role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Riteish Deshmukh shared a long caption along with his post on Instagram about this film. He has praised Shivaji Maharaj as a ‘legend, an icon, an eternal flame of inspiration.’ He says that that his deepest aspiration has always been to immortalize his awe-inspiring journey on the grand canvas of cinema’. Raja Shivaji film will be produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Riteish wife Genelia Deshmukh. Ajay-Atul will be composing the music for the film and acclaimed cinematographer and director Santosh Sivan will be shooting this film. The film will release in 2025.
This will be Riteish”s second directorial venture after Marathi successful film Ved(2022).
