Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Ram Setu releases tomorrow. It is about the story of a bridge that connects India with Sri Lanka, a historical bridge that also has religious significance -called Ram Setu. Dr. Aryan Kulshrestha’s role in discovering the hidden truths about the bridge is also explored in the film. Dr. Aryan Kulshrestha is an archaeologist and his role is played by Akshay Kumar in the film. Akshay Kumar is not only an actor but also the producer of the film.
Another producer of the film Vikram Malhotra says, Akshay Kumar’s support as a producer and actor behind the making of the film was really strong. Akshay Kumar was patient enough to get going through the entire process of research behind the making of the film that was time consuming. They wanted to get all the historical and religious representaion of the film done right.. That is why they took good amount of time for the making of the film. The film was shot in a 16 months time duration and then the detail oriented VFX process of the film began.
Producer Vikram Malhotra says the film began shooting with the in-depth study of Ramayana and also the study of the subject Ram Setu with the team of experts in different fields be it throigh archaelogy, sonar imgaging, carbon dating and geology , also marine exploration of the subject Ram Setu. The history of the film is also explored in this film by taking reference of the acient history maps, including the one placed in a museum in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu that shows how Ram Setu was depicted and how under the Brithish Raj in India, the name was changed to Adam’s Bridge. Ram Setu as a main subject first time explored in a film like this. So Dr. Pushkar Bhatnagar’s seminal book titled ‘Dating the Era of Lord Rama’ considerd one of the most trusted sources behind the astrological study of Ramayan and Lord Ram also referred while making this film.
Ram Setu film releases in cinemas tomorrow. Prime Video is presenting the film along with Cape of Good Films, Lyca Productions and Abundantia Entertainmanet. Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi is the Creative producer of Ram Setu. The film will be distributed worldwide in cinemas by Zee Studios. Abhishek Sharma is the director of the film. Ram Setu is coming to theatres tomorrow, 25th OCtober.
