Prashanth Neel says he felt the need for Ugramm to be told to a much larger audience, that is why he made Salaar

Salaar director Prashanth Neel said in one of his interviews recently that he made Salaar movie to fill the cinema halls. He says this is going to be one of his best movies.

He can’t imagine any other movie of his better than Salaar. He says, Salaar is a remake of Ugramm but is much better than it. His way of telling story has improved, his skills etc, understanding has got much better.

He says that the movie is meant for a much larger audience. The world needed to see the story of Ugramm. That is why I made Salaar, Prashant Neel says.

He doesnt care what the audince thinks that this person can’t think anything beyond KGF and Ugramm. He says he is making the film for himself. The film he has made, he believes is capable of filling the cinema halls and come what may, he is going to showcase the story to the audience.

He says Ugramm is his film, so audience can’t point fingers at him about a remake movie. Ugramm was also directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by his brother Pradeep.

Salaar released on cinemas 22nd December that is today. He is grateful to Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran for being part of the story he’s believed in.
