Veteran actor Mithun Chakrabory was admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata on Saturday morning after he complained of having chest pain.. He was diagnosed later with ischemic cerebrovascular accident (also called the brin stroke).
The brain stroke is when a portion f the brain is not receiving proper blood flow. Mithun Da complained of weakness in his right upper and lower limbs when he was taken to the hospital. He is currently monitored by a group of medical professionals and is getting the requited care. Necessary tests like the laboratory and radiology tests were carries out including MRI of the brain.
He is fully conscious now, well-oriented and has consumed soft diet, said the medical statement released from the hospital . The team of doctors evaluating him, his health include a neuro physician, cardiologist and a gastroenterologist.
Mithun Chakraborty is 73 years age. He is a senior actor who has a career spanning over 350 movies in multiple languages. He has also forayed into politics and is a member of the Bhartiya Janta Party currently. He was honoured recently with the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civil award for his work by the Indian government. He was quite happy to know the news of receipting the Padma Bhushan award. He has said, ‘Bohot takleefon ke baad jab itna bad samman milta hain to h uski feeling kuch alag hi hoti hai’.
Mithun was shooting in Kolkata since 31 January to a movie titled Shastri directed by Pathikrit Basu. Dada as he is fondly called, is playing an astrologer n the movie. They had a 23 day schedule. On Friday, he packed up around 6 pm after a shoot in Baranager. The following day, Saturday that is yesterday he complained of ill health and was taken to the hospital. Now he is fine and recuperating.
