Avatar sequel: The Way of Water is curently successfully running in theatres despite mixed reviews from the audience. In the middle of this, James Cameron has said, that he has cut 10 minutes of the film that involved scenes of gun violence. He said that his movie is already long 3 hour duration. He wanted to cut some portion of the movie, so he thought why not cut the portion involving gun violence.
James Cameron said, he wanted to get rid of some ugliness in the movie and he wanted to maintain a balance between the ‘light’ and the ‘dark’. He also said that violence and action are the same thing no matter how differently you look at it. He is called an action filmmaker. He said ‘you need to have conflict ofcourse in movies’. He also spoke about the gun violence in the US. He recalled the times he first used to have gun scenes in films like Terminator. He says, he doesn;t know if he would want to do something like that now.
‘I don’t know if I would want to fetishise the gun’. “What I had done on a couple of Terminator movies, was 30 plus years age’. But ‘In our current world what’s happening with guns in our society, turns my stomach’. This s what he said. Avatar: The Way of Water is a story of Jake and Neyitri as they build their family battling their past which seems to catch up with them even after a long time. The film stars actors Sam Worthingtom.
