A.R. Murgadoss’ upcoming film August 16, 1947 releases on April 7 2023. It is a pan India film releasing worldwide in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi , Kannada, Malyalam and English. Jayantital Gada is going to present the Hindi version of the film.
Ahead of the film release, just a week away, makers had kept a promotional event of the upcoming film in which the movie producer A.R. Mugadoss released a letter he had written to every citizen of this country.
He said in the letter the attrocities faced by the Indians under British rule was gruesome. Freedom was not achieved easily. For freedom we had to pay a price. It took the blood and sweat of so many Indians (our forefathers). Our Freedom was a constant battle, a constant struggle.Freedom was achieved by the stuggle of many and sacrifice aof so many lives. Freedom achivement was difficult and Indians should not take their freedom for granted, that is what he meant to say in the letter.
His upcoming film ‘August 16, 1947’ tells a story of a village fighting against the British. A.R. Murgadoss aims to tell the untold stories about freedom struggle, outside what is told in history textbooks. He wants to bring to light stories what he has personally learnt and listened from his village elders. A.R. Murgadoss thought of this film to be only a Tamil relase. The film will see acting by Gautham Karthik, Revathy, Pugazh and the film is directed by NS Ponkumar. Purple Bull Entertainment of AR Murgadoss is foinf to present this film, coproduced by AR Murgadoss, Om Prakash Bhatt, Narsiram Choudhary and Aditya Joshi.
