The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri spoke exclusively with Filmifever admin Ravi Gupta. He spoke about his film Kashmir Files and the negativity it recieved also the praise and support his film received, later on. He also spoke about the recent box office success Pathaan how it received negativity initially from certain section of audience and how later the film turned out to be a success.
Vivek Agnihotri said that he doesn’t appreciate violence for any kind of films. He doesnt approve the Boycott trend going on against films in the industry. He says that people should have a decent way of expressing their opinions, but he says that he is not in favour of violence. ‘People breaking theatres and damaging property’ any kind of such violence should not be tolerated, he says.
He also says that films publicity campaigns should also be free from politics. He says that questions raised against films should be just and fair. He says that he doesnt approve of hypocrisy from certain section of audience who question one film in a different way and other film in a different way.
He says that he makes films to spead the message of India to the world. He doesn’t believe in box office number games, he says. He says that he doesn’t like the 100 crore, 300 crore film, measurement of a film success these days. He says, according to him, even if the film budget is 8 crore, if it makes business of 20 crore, it is success to him. He also expressed his dislike for the exaggerated box office numbers presented these days in Bollywood.
