Henry Cavill who has played Superman character over the years has shared the news on social media that he will not be returning as Superman in the upcoming movie.
Instead some new actor would play his role. He has said in his post on social media that DC Studios team James Gunn and Peter Safran are creating a new universe and in that universe Henry Cavill’s role has been dropped.
‘Changing of the guard is something that happens. And I respect that’ says Henry Cavill. He wished the members associated with the new universe ‘best of luck’ and ‘happiest fortunes’
He also said in his post that his supporters can ‘mourn for a bit’ but they should remember that ‘Superman is still around. Everything he stands for still exists, and the examples he sets for us is still there’
He also revealed that his turn to wear the cape has passed, but what Superman character stands for will never pass.
He said it was a fun ride with the auidence in his journey as Superman ‘onwards and ‘upwards’
The next Superman movie will not involve Henry Cavill, but will focus on an earlier part of the Superman character’s life. More details about the project will be revealed and disclosed to the media in January.
