Dunki actor Vikram Kochhar spoke exclusively with Filmifever. He spoke about how he got a role in the film. What was his effort and how was his overall experience working with Raju sir (Rajkumar Hirani) and Shah Rukh Khan in the film.
He said that he had been recommended by Mukesh Chhabra for the role in the film afterwhich he gave the required set of auditions. He was declared correct for the character and he was signed in for the film. He said that it has been a long experience, a long journey for him to be seen in such a big movie alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Rakjkumar HIrani.
Before also he had met Imitiaz Ali for Harry Met Sejal. Mukesh Chabra had recommed him for the film. Vikram Kochhar said he was new then. Imitiaz Ali said to Mukesh Chabra how will this new guy be able to play the role opposite such big star like Shah Rukh Khan and come back to today he has landed a role in the film with Shah Rukh Khan and worked with him.
He said that he has been working in acting since he was 18 and now he is 40 years old. He said that he has also undergone formal training in the skill from National School of Drama (NSD). Vikram Kochhar feels that he was NSD graduate and that is why they might have selected him for the film apart from his audition result. Raju Sir might have felt that this guy is an NSD graduate and he might do some kind of deliverable performance in the film.
Vikram Kochhar said both Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani were very supportive in the film during the shoot. They never made him feel like a junior but supported him and also took his ideas.
Rajkumar sir wanted first the actor to meet his expectations and then he would also be welcoming to take the actors feedback and incorporate them into the shoot of the film. It was a different experience for him working on the film. Such a big opportunity like this comes once in a lifetime. Vikram Kochhar says he is grateful for the role and he wants to part of such more big films in the future.
He is ready to deliver with his hardwork and effort. After long time, my efforts have been paid off and I have got my due, he said.
Vikram Kochhar has also been part of television , series, movies and a long time in industry. Last time he was seen in Netflix series Choona in the month of August this year.
