2023 Oscar entry from India, Gujarati film Chhello Show meaning (The Last Film Show) actress Richa Meena spoke in an exclusive conversation with FIlmifever this evening. She was very happy to be a part of the film that has entered the Oscars as India’s official entry. She said that she and her team had given their 100 percent. So its now time to celebrate.
Speaking about how she got a role in the film, she said that she was asked to audition for the film through one of the casting executive who knew her personally. Then things, went forward and she had audioned before director Dilip Shankar also, following which she bagged the film.
Chhello Show is a a story of a child who has love for cinema and thinks about his future as a storyteller.Richa Meena plays mother’s role in the film. She was asked about her opinion on her film beating big budget successes this year like The Kashmir FIles and RRR to the Oscars.
To which she said, big budget or small budget films don’t matter. Creativity has an important role to play. She said that when they shot the film 3 years back, she could feel the honesty with which every film member was putting efforts in the film. Today’s entry is a reflection of that honesty. She also said that her film Chhello Show should not be limited to Gujarati language, Gujarati cinema. ‘Emotions showcased in this film are international’. She also appealed to the people to watch her film, not because she is part of it but because she believes she had great time watching the movie, viewers will love watching the movie too.
Chhello Show will be releasing in theatres across Gujarat and select theatres across the country on 14th October.
