Odia movie DAMan that recently got a hindi release in cinemas, its director Vishal Mourya and Debi Prasad Lenka spoke exclussively with Filmifever.
Vishal Mourya says along with Debi Prasad Mourya that it was an emotional moment for them to see their film poster here in Mumbai. They said that they had always dreamt of making a Odia movie that will cross the boundaries of the state They wanted to show an Odia movie to the world and now people across the state are appreciating the film and they think that with this now their one dream is acccomplished.
Debi Prasad Lenka and Vishal Mourya both left their jobs to create a career in filmmaking. They recalled their young days together. Debi Prassad says he left his editing job in Mumbai. Vishal Mourya says he also left his job in Pune to pursue hs dream of filmmaking. They both joined hands together ten years ago and now their collaboration with this film has turned out to be a success.
Vishal Mourya in his advice to future filmmakers, an expereince from his journey says ‘I only thought of myself as a passenger. I have to keep moving. I started to walk. I took a step and then things started initiating. I met Debi Prasad Lenka and likewise so many peeople who became part of my journey and our dream started getting fulfilled’
Both the directors Vishal and Debi of DAMan movie hope that just like their Feature film was a hit in the Odia cinema, they are optismistic that the film will run well in Hindi as well. They hope ‘word of mouth’ for ODia release like public initiative will prove to be a gamechanger for the film. Watch Daman in Hindi in nearest cinemeas houses, released on the 3rd of this month.
