Chup: The Revenge of an artist movie is based on the story of a psychokiller who takes revenge for his favourite filmaker Guru Dutt not making films. Guru Dutt is not making films because one his films got so many negative reviews among critics. So this psycho killer takes note of this and kills film critics one by one. Sunny Deol play role of an inspector who tries to investigate this crimes commited by the psycho killer, tries to find who the criminal is.
Chup first half is very fast forward and very engaging. Very beautiful first half, second half some scenes look dragged. Dulquer Salmaan and Shreya Dhanwanthary chemistry is impressive in the film.
Dulquer Salmaan is the star performer of this movie along with Sunny Deol. Sunny Deol, one will definitely enjoy his performance in the film. Pooja Bhatt performance is good. Amitabh Bachchan also has a cameo role in the film. He has aslo done his part very nicely. Dialogues are really good in this film. One dialogue I really liked from the film was ‘cinema is an art. It’s not a xerox machine’ reminding filmmakers that they should focus on the craft and not on making remakes of already existing ones.
Film songs are not much impressive. They are based on the different situations in the movie. They don’t seem like they are forcefuly fit n the movie. But I didn’t like the songs much. R Balki’s direction and this movie’s cinematography is awesome. You get the feel of watching a 70’s 80’s time movie while watching this film. End of the film second half there is a message for us viewers. You will get to know only after watchcing this film. I liked watching this thriller movie because it had a different concept and a different fresh story to tell. I had a great time watching this movie. I recommend you to watch this movie too. I rate this movie 3 stars out of 5.
