Senior actor Arun Govil who played Bhagwan Ram’ character in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan TV series has reacted to this new movie on Ramayan i.e. Adipurush starring Prabhas. He said that this new film could not stand up to people’s expectations.
He raised objections on the language used in the film, specially some dialogues that are written in a lay man language not suitable for a film on Gods. He also spoke about the modern way the film has been presented, using VFX and also creative liberty used, he said that film on Ramayan need to have been made with more care and attention as this film has connection with people’s faith and devotion. People’s devotion need to have been paid utmost respect and attention.
He also spoke about the objections raised by some people on the costumes and the look of actors in the film. He defended the actors saying that theirs is not a role in looking about or speaking about their costumes. Makers have a role and say in the costumes, looks. Actors can’t be blamed, he said. The film was a good success at the box office having collections about 140 crores on the first day worldwide.
