Bastar The Naxal Story movie review: Film is nice but the story should have been shown in a more neutral way

We all know the news of Naxalism, Naxalites etc coming sometimes in newspapers and media. We get to see a little glimpse of them in the form of this movie called Bastar The Naxal Story. The story of a place called Bastar where Naxalites where there. What was their role? What did they do? etc. we get to see in this movie. This movie shows two aspects, one of a police officer in the character of Adah Sharma and other people Naxalite people character.

This movie has tried to show the negative aspect of Naxalism in India. Naxalites support a particular idealogy and India is a country where different ideologies are countered but respected. So instead of showing purely Naxals as negative. They should have justified their claims to make it a little more easy to accept for the audience. Storytelling specially the climax could have been more justifying to the audience.

Vijay Krishnan’s role in this movie was really commendable. Adah Sharma also portrays an IPS officer character quite decently. The film has other actors like Indira Tiwari who also give a good performance in the movie. Violence scenes are there, courtroom drama is there. I liked the way that they have shown news media reports to claim that whatever story they are showing is not fictional but based on some happenings.

Some impactful scenes are really there in this movie. This movie is a hard hitting movie but climax should have been more convincing. This movie shows one side story of Naxalism, I feel. I rate Bastar: The Naxal Story movie 3.5 stars out of 5. This is a different kind of movie. You are free to watch this film.
