Disney company is planning to adapt One Thousand and One Nights, also known as Arabian Nights and the movie is going to be presented with a science fiction angle. Story of this movie is going to be written by Arash Amel and the film is going to be a live-action original film, not attached to any pre-existing films of the company. It is not yet clear as of now whether the film will get a theatrical release or will the film be shown on a Disney+ platform.
Disney had prevously adapted Alladin story from One Thousand and One Nights in 1992. Robin Williams starred in the movie. It is not yet known which story of One Thousand and One Nights will be adapted this time, that too with a sci-fi spin. Writer of the upcoming film, Arash Amel has collaborated with Disney earlier as well. He has written the screenplay of the film Rise, which released exclusively on Disney+ ealier this year. The film had recieved many positive reviews.
The upcoming film from Arabian Nights adaptation is still in its early stages of develpment. No official details have been disclosed so far, whether it is regarding the screenplay of the film or the release date of the film. More details of the film have to be awaited.
