EXCLUSIVE: Kantara becomes the first South Indian film to be shown in Mumbai’s Gaiety Galaxy

FIlmifever Admin Ravi Gupta had suggested the owner of Gaiety Galaxy in Mumbai to consider showing the film Kantara in its theatres after looking at the humongous response among the audience and the number of seats falling less for the audience. Manoj Desai, the Executive Director of Gaiety Galaxy agreed to exhbit the film and the film has been running successfully since then. First few days of the film, Kantara could not be shown to the audience. But as soon as Filmifever contacted the Gaiety Galaxy exhibitor about the film, Kantara was put for exhibition at the theatre. Place was also there for Kantara. That is why Gaeity Galaxy agreed to display the film. Yesterday show, first show at Gaiety became housefull and todays show also had 100 percent occupancy. People came to know about the film display at Gaiety through Book My Show.

By this, Kantara became the first Kannada film to be shown in Gaiety Galaxy. Also, the first South Indian movie to be shown in Gaiety Galaxy. Marathi Gujarati, Hindi movies have been shown earlier but this is the first time ever in Gaiety Galaxy’s history that a South Indian – Kannada film was shown to the audience. So far, the film is doing well at the theatre. Exhibitor Manoj Desai is also optimistic about the film and is also ready to show the film incase a Hindi dub version of the film comes to theatres. People are also demanding a Hindi dub version of Kantara. But makers have not yet made official when will the Hindi version of Kantara come. Will it come on OTT or theatres is also not said. But RIshab Shetty has said yesterday that the Hindi version of Kantara is surely coming. We will have to wait for the official word from Kantara team now when the movie hindi version is releasing.

Kantara was released yesterday and today as it is in Kannada version at Gaiety Galaxy, dub version in Hindi yet to come. Gaeity Galaxy is going to continue exhibtng Kantara in Kannada now until further notice.

Kantara is a story of a forest land getting encroached and people are fighting against the forest officials to preserve it, protect it.  Rishab Shetty stars in the lead role. He has also written and directed the film.
